What is Thigh Lift Cosmetic Surgery | London & Essex?
Professor Ben Miranda perfoms thigh lift cosmetic surgery in London and Essex. A thigh lift is a cosmetic surgery operation that removes the excess or loose skin on the upper thighs. Fat deposition in the upper inner thigh region is extremely common and is not always associated with significant weight gain or weight loss; this can be irritating as the thighs rub together when walking. It may be possible to copletely hide the scar in the groin region by performing a medial thight lift; however, if you have had significant weight loss, it may be necessary to remove more loose skin and tissue from aroud the thigh which will add a vertical scar to the upper inner thigh region. In more extensive cases it may be beneficial to combine a thigh lift with liposuction to cosmetically improve the thigh contour further. Following your surgery you may need to wear a well fitted compression garment to help maintain your post-operative shape while you are healing. Post-operative bruising may take up to 3 weeks to completely resolve and it is advisable to avoid strenuous exercise for 4 weeks, and to avoid lower leg exercises until 6 weeks, following your thigh lift cosmetic surgery.
Many of the potential complications of thigh lift cosmetic surgery will be minimised by Professor Miranda’s clinical experience and meticulous surgical technique, and careful post-operative follow-up in the dressing clinic. Potential complications of thigh lift cosmetic surgery may include infection, bleeding, wound breakdown (higher risk if you have a BMI>28 and smoke), scarring (hypertrophic / keloid / stretched scar), nerve damage (this can result in altered sensation), asymmetry or a cosmetic surgery outcome that is not what you had expected and a requirement for further surgery. It is also very important to mobilise as early as possible post-operatively, to prevent the rare complications of a DVT or PE.
