What is Liposuction Cosmetic Surgery | London & Essex?

Professor Ben Miranda performs liposuction cosmetic surgery in London Harley Street & Essex (Chelmsford & Southend). Liposuction cosmetic surgery removes fat from areas of the body that will not disappear, even with diet and exercise. Liposuction is most effective for patients who are near to normal weight and have firm, elastic skin; however, it is also extremely useful when performing weight loss or mummy makeover surgery; more can be read about this on the abdominoplasty, tummy tuck and weight loss cosmetic surgery patient information page, which also has further information on brachioplasty and thigh lift.
Patients most frequently request liposuction cosmetic surgery for the abdomen, back or love handles, thighs, buttocks, knees, neck, upper arms and male breasts for gynaecomastia. Liposuction is performed using a special cannula that is inserted through small skin incisions carefully placed around the body. Following your surgery you may need to wear a well fitted compression garment to help maintain your post-operative shape while you are healing; this would ideally be worn day and night for 2 weeks, then throughout the day for a further 4 weks.
Many of the potential complications of liposuction cosmetic surgery will be minimised by Professor Ben Miranda’s clinical experience and meticulous surgical technique, and careful post-operative follow-up in the dressing clinic. Potential complications of liposuction may include infection, bleeding, contour irregularities, asymmetry, revision surgery, small scars and altered sensation (this may be permanent).

What is Fat Transfer, Lipomodelling or Lipotransfer Cosmetic Surgery | London & Essex?
Professor Ben Miranda performs fat transfer, lipomodelling or lipotransfer cosmetic surgery in London & Essex. Lipomodelling or lipotransfer cosmetic surgery takes fat from one area of your body and uses it as a fat transfer to improve the cosmetic shape of another area of your body. Most frequently, patients request fat transfer, lipomodelling or lipotransfer to the breasts; this provides patients with a breast augmentation using only their own natural tissue, and avoids the need for a silicone implant. As fat contains stem cells, it may be used to help rejuvenate other areas of the body instead of using dermal fillers; frequently reqeusted fat stem cell rejeuvenation cosmetic surgery includes the hands, labia and face. The advantage of using your own body fat to perform rejeuvenation is that it lasts longer, and in fact in many cases is permanent as compared to traditional dermal fillers, while also reducing some of the potential complications associated with the use of dermal fillers.
Many of the potential complications of fat transfer, lipomodelling or lipotransfer cosmetic surgery will be minimised by Professor Ben Miranda’s clinical experience and meticulous surgical technique, and careful post-operative follow-up in the dressing clinic. In addition to the potential complicaitons of liposuction, when fat is transferred to another part of the body, it relies on obtaining a new blood supply; this means that the fat cells may not all completely take and there is some volume loss noted after transfer (up to 50%), or the fat cells die (fat necrosis). For this reason, there is a limit to the volume of fat that can be transferred to one area of your body at one time; in some cases where patients request greater volume enhancement, such as for breast augmentation fat transfer, lipomodelling or lipotransfer cosmetic surgery, repeat procedures may be necessary. Very rarely a fat embolism may also occur to other parts of the body which can be serious, however this complication is extremely rare and minimised by injecting low-risk areas such as the breasts, hands and face; buttock injections are considered to be high risk areas.
suction cosmetic surgery in London & Essex. Many of the potential complications of liposuction abdominplasty or tummy tuck cosmetic surgery will be minimised by Professor Miranda’s clinical experience and meticulous surgical technique, and careful post-operative follow-up in the dressing clinic. Potential complications of abdominplasty or tummy tuck cosmetic surgery may include infection, bleeding and hematoma (this usually occurs within the first 24 hours following surgery and would require a return to theatre to stop any bleeding), wound breakdown (high risk if you have a BMI>28 and smoke), scarring (hypertrophic / keloid / stretched scar), umbilicus displacement or loss, asymmetry or a cosmetic surgery outcome that is not what you had expected, skin flap necrosis (possibly requiring dressings or a skin graft) and numbness over the lower part of the abdomen (may be permanent). It is also very important to mobilise as early as possible post-operatively, to prevent the rare complications of a DVT or PE.
